Upon arrival at the Tianjin airport an English-speaking guide will be waiting. Board a motorcoach for Beijing and the Temple of Heaven. This tranquil park provides an authentic look into local life in this city. Then, head to the Forbidden City, home to 14 emperors, with its 9,999 rooms. Walk through Tiananmen Square, passing several monuments including the mausoleum that houses Chairman Mao's remains. No trip to Beijing is complete without Peking Duck for dinner. (Includes overnight at your China World Hotel, lunch, and dinner)

Today you walk along the Great Wall, the longest man-made structure in the world. Explore the section of the Great Wall which was first begun in 550 and walk this 1.5-mile stretch of the Wall visiting 22 watchtowers. Lunch is at The Brick House, a sustainable tourism project with a Western-menu lunch of fresh, locally produced and seasonal ingredients. Fly to Xi'an, before checking in to the Gran Meliá Xian hotel. (Includes overnight at Gran Meliá Xian hotel, breakfast and lunch)

The Terracotta Warriors, discovered in 1974, await. These sculptures are one of the world's greatest archaeological finds and were made to accompany China's first emperor to the afterlife over 2,100 years ago. Note the intricate details of the statues. Following this tour, visit the Xi'an city walls, dating back to the 2nd century BC, when Xi'an was the capital of China. They are almost 7 miles long and still surrounded by a deep moat. Take a leisurely walk to appreciate the spectacular views and rich history of this ancient structure. Recharge with lunch at a local Chinese restaurant before a late afternoon flight back to Beijing and a stay at the China World Hotel. (Includes overnight at the China World Hotel, breakfast, and lunch)

Terms & Conditions

Deposit and Final Payment Requirements:

An immediate deposit of 15% of booking total is required within three days of booking to secure a reservation. Final payment is due 90 days prior to the departure date. Your documents are usually received 30 days prior to departure. Travel documents, however, are only issued after final payment has been received by Windstar. Send all payments to Windstar Cruises, 2101 4th Avenue, Suite 210, Seattle, WA 98121 U.S.A. Payment is also welcome by American Express, Visa, or MasterCard. For faster processing, please include a confirmation number on your check. All charges are in USD. Windstar is not liable for any currency exchange rate or foreign exchange fee imposed by the account holder& bank or credit card company. Payment of the cruise deposit and Travel Protection Plan (if applicable) constitutes a binding of the Terms & Conditions as attached. Late Booking Policy: On bookings within 45 days of departure, Windstar Cruises requires final payment before the process of requesting air or hotel space. All bookings made 14 days of departure will be booked as cruise only. Documents for bookings made within 14 days will be emailed to all passengers.

Late Booking Policy:

On bookings within 30 days of departure, Windstar Cruises requires final payment before the process of requesting air or hotel space. All bookings made 30 days of departure will be booked as cruise only. Bookings made within 30 days of departure will receive electronic documents. Paper documents will not be mailed out this close to the sailing date.

Singles:

Single occupancy of a stateroom is 175% of the published per-person stateroom cruise fare (200% of suites) and is subject to availability.

Change Fees:

Changing your itinerary after reservations have been made can result in loss of advantages gained by early planning. To cover administrative costs, a minimum charge of $50 per person will be assessed if you request a change in your travel arrangements. If such change involves a change of date of departure and occurs less than ninety (90) days prior to departure date, then the applicable cancellation fees for released cruise space will also be charged.

Cancellation Policy:

A full refund (except for the amounts paid for Cancellation Protection Plan and the $50 per person fee) will be made for written cancellations received by Windstar Cruises at least 121 days prior to the date on which you are to commence travel by any mode of transportation booked through Windstar Cruises (air, sea, or land).

Guests who cancel after that date for any reason, including medical or family reasons, are subject to the following cancellation schedule:

  • 120-90 days before commencing travel - 15% of gross fare (deposit);
  • 89-60 days before commencing travel - 35% of gross fare;
  • 59-30 days before commencing travel-50% of gross fare;
  • 29-0 days before commencing travel - 100% of gross fare.

Fees are due regardless of resale.
