Kuala Lumpur Market Tour

Experience the hustle and bustle of the ever popular Pudu market and see first-hand how traders, local farmers and their customers interact as bargains are made and delicious street food is eaten! This particular market is popular amongst the locals and is a far cry from some of the other touristy markets in the city. There’s plenty of fresh produce and character to be found here and, charmingly, not much has changed in the past 60 years. Your foodie and shopping adventure begins with a stroll towards Pudu, with a stop on the way to visit some small local stalls where we’ll load up on some seriously good breakfast eats.

For Malaysians, breakfast is an important affair and we suggest that you too take it very seriously during your stay! Sample some fresh rotis (unleavened flat breads of Indian origin) with curry from one of our favourite vendors. If spice isn't your thing, we’ll steer you towards some delicious fried delights as well as some of our most beloved traditional snacks. While you eat, your guide will tell fascinating stories about the origins of Kuala Lumpur and where it all began.

Onward to the hustle and bustle of the market to hear traders sell their wares and customers get involved in some frenzied bargaining! See how chickens are slaughtered and then sold, discover many of the different local spices and witness different ethnic traditions co-exist in a market that effectively demonstrates what makes Kuala Lumpur so special and unique. If you would like to make some purchases, your local guide will be able to help in overcoming the language barrier and guide you through the bargaining process. Before you go, don’t forget to ask your guide for tips on what else to do and what else to eat during your stay in Kuala Lumpur.

KL Food Experience

Blaze a culinary trail through Kuala Lumpur on this delicious food walk. This three-hour, fully interactive KL walking tour takes you to the hidden backstreets and narrow alleys of Kuala Lumpur and its suburbs to experience the very best of local food. Malaysia is a fascinating melting pot of cultures and there is no better way of experiencing it all than from a plate. We stroll through the Indian influenced neighbourhood of Brickfields, where the architecture, music, and food is all loud and colourful. You'll get to sample delicious Indian dishes served on a banana leaf and seek out sweet vendors for sugary morsels like fresh banana fritter, sticky, sweet gulab jamun, or the local favourite, cendol (shaved ice, plum sugar, kidney beans and coconut milk jelly).

Our Kuala Lumpur food tour will continue in the comfort of KL’s sky-high local transport system, where you'll be swept from the colour of India to the bustle of China. We explore the city’s vibrant China Town, where we tuck in to some wonderfully tasty noodles and sample some refreshing lime juice while taking in the action that moves at a quick pace around us. We'll finish our KL food adventure with a coffee at an old-school coffee house, where we can see the evolution of KL through charming photos of the past. As you relax and take a breather, your local guide will help you plan your afternoon and, more importantly, recommend somewhere great for a fabulous local dinner.
