This morning we take you on a very special tour of the Hermitage Museum

Accompanied by your guide you will leave crowds of people behind you and will be privileged to enter the Hermitage the very first. Down the echoing halls you will walk to the Pavillion Hall where the Peacock Clock is on display.

The Peacock Clock is a unique thing, extremely sophisticated in terms of technical setup and is a real master-piece for its aesthetic value. Just imagine a complicated clock mechanism, made as far as 3 centuries ago, still operating not just as a clock, but as a thousand component gem of precious stones and metals (breath-taking beauty when even still) when set a -going displaying a sketch of wild life, with the huge central figure of the Peacock and smaller characters like wood creatures carved down to every minute detail coming to life to the melodious tune. The clock will be wound up specially for you.

If this is your first visit, your guide will help you become oriented to the vast collection and ensure that you get to see the museum’s most precious possessions. If you have been to the museum before, or are interested in particular exhibits, your guide would be delighted to give a more in-depth presentation on aspects of the collection with which you most wish to become closer familiar.

Your tour of the Hermitages will include special visit to the Diamond Room or Gold Room.

Diamond Room, aka Gold Room # 1

You will see a staggering array of decorative objects and jewelry, adorned with countless diamonds, rubies and sapphires, all commissioned by the Russian Imperial family and courtiers from the leading European jewelers of the time. Some of the masterpieces made in the renowned Faberge workshop.

Gold Room, aka Gold Room # 2

You will have a chance to view the unique renowned collection of Scythian gold from the 7th-4th centuries B.C.

After lunch at one of the best restaurants of St. Petersburgvisit to the Faberge Museum with the nine Imperial Easter Eggs created by Fabergé for the last two Russian Emperors on display.

On the tour completion you will return to your hotel in order to have some rest and dress up for the very special evening event.

Your private guide and driver will take you to one of the most sumptuous palaces of St. Petersburg where in 1916, Rasputin, monk-favorite of the last Romanovs was assassinated. The Palace was the home of the unabashedly rich and powerful family of the Yussupovs, who were great collectors of art. Their collection was known well beyond Russia.

This is an exclusively private evening at the Yussupov Palace and the palace will be open especially for you.

You will start your tour inside the Palace in the state rooms, you will visit the underground chambers where the wax effigies of the key participants recall the events of the fateful night.

Your guide will tell you about the details of Rasputin assassination, private living rooms (usually closed for the public) will be unlocked so you could come in and enjoy their exquisite interior.

You will then find yourself in the Moorish Sitting room where delightful snack or dinner will be served for you, you will enjoy tasting of the delicacies of Russian and international cuisine, best sorts of Russian vodka, champagne and national berry-drink (mors) with accompaniment of live music – harp tunes, you will be surprised by the original dance performed by a ballet dancer in the luxury interiors.

In summer time we would be pleased to offer the Open Bridges tour at night following your dinner at the Yusupov Palace.

Your White Nights cruise will take you along some of the city’s smaller rivers and canals, past some of the most historic sites in the city, all brightly illuminated underneath the twilight skies.

The highlight of the cruise is the raising of the drawbridges over the Neva River, which begins around 1:20 am. You will return to your hotel by 2.30am.
