When it comes to lunch options, there are several locations in the central city where there are collections of fabulous restaurants. Britomart, Wynyard Quarter & the Viaduct are Auckland’s waterfront dining precincts, where you will be able to enjoy fabulous views, alongside your wonderful food.

For an afternoon in the city, there are options to suit any visitor. For those looking for a more culture-focused afternoon, the Auckland Museum offers a journey through the story of Aotearoa New Zealand and Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland.

Waiheke Island sample itinerary

Travel to the beautiful ‘Island of Wine’ in the Hauraki Gulf via a Fullers ferry. Only a 35 minute ferry ride from downtown Auckland.

Start off your day with EcoZip Adventures! Ecozip offers state-of-the-art flying-fox ziplines over a working vineyard, and with views back to the city, followed by an eco-immersive forest walk, completing the perfect activity for adventure and nature lovers of all ages.

Another active option on Waiheke Island, is horse riding along Waiheke’s native bush trails and beautiful beaches. Stop off at a traditional Maori marae to learn about the island’s Maori culture and history.

Matakana sample itinerary

Travel to the beautiful Matakana region, an easy one hour drive north of central Auckland. There are a range of operators that can help you plan your journey based on your interests.

Your morning activity will take you to Pariki, where you enjoy a scenic horse ride along the sparkling, pristine white sands of Pariki Beach.

An alternative option to horse riding, is paddling through Goat Island, New Zealand’s first marine reserve, in a clear kayak. These kayaks offer a pure, peaceful experience and the vision beneath you is amazingly clear and detailed.
