The former imperial capital of Vietnam, Hue is noted for its tombs and mausoleums of the last emperors, and offers fascinating insights into the lives of the old royal families. Upon arrival from Chan May, we’ll first visit the monumental tomb of Khai Dinh, showing both Vietnamese and European elements; the incredibly elaborate interior is a riot of rich Baroque color and detail. After a lunch of traditional specialties such as green papaya salad, egg noodles with fried shallots, and grilled pork ribs, we’ll take a cyclo ride to Tay Loc market, a mostly-locals spot for both produce and crafts. We’ll then head to peaceful Tinh Tam Lake, full of lotus flowers in the summer and ringed with coffee shops where university students come to study. Our last stop will be Hue’s premier attraction, the magnificent royal palace complex, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Home of the Nguyen Dynasty between 1802 and 1945, this walled city contains palaces, temples, and the former emperor’s residence. Though much of the site was destroyed in the war, its harmonious layout offers a haunting beauty and living link to Vietnam’s royal history.

Suggested Attire/Walking Notes: Casual attire with comfortable walking shoes. Hats and sunscreen are recommended. Moderate walking over some uneven surfaces.

Day Tour - Highlights Of Hong Kong

Explore the highlights of Hong Kong in a day! Get to go to the famous places of Hong Kong and understand their culture and heritage.

Victoria Peak

Victoria Peak is one of the all time favourite in Hong Kong. It is the highest peak in Hong Kong with an altitude of 554 meters which is one of the many landmarks of the island. With its incredible height, it is the best spot to offer the bird's eye view of the Victoria Harbor that shows high and crowded buildings in the day and a magnificient night view of the city.

Aberdeen

“Floating Village of Aberdeen”, a quaint and charming village that is not far from the heart of Hong Kong, but seems like light-years away from it. Here you see rows upon rows of the old-fashioned junks and sampans, some house boats where the fishermen and their families still live. It is a very picturesque scene, with the unexpected touch of modernity right and left. The high-rises framing the harbor and the ultra-modern yachts moored not far away complete this picture of contrasts. You will then get to enjoy a 20 minutes Sampan ride around this fishing village.

Repulse Bay

Repulse Bay is the most spectacular bay in the southern part of Hong Kong Island. Its name was given during a 19th century battle when British army repulsed to attack the pirates. Depite having such a story in the past, Repulse Bay is now one of Hong Kong luxurious places. It is an up-market residential area for the rich and the famous. This crescent-shaped stretch of sands is one of the most beautiful beaches in Hong Kong and it is very popular with both the locals and visitors.

Hollywood Road

Having it as one of the first road built in Hong Kong, Hollywood Road has been one of the city's main thoroughfares for more than a hundred years. It was where the Chinese traders first bought their resources and perform trading with foreign traders to make a living. Now, it has been one of the tourists attractions due to its rich history and it is definitely the place to find antiques as it has been its norm from many years back.

Day Tour - Discovering the New Territories

Explore the different side of Hong Kong as you discover Kowloon & the New Territories. This region in Hong Kong can be attributed to the Convention for the Extension of Hong Kong Territory, a lease signed between the Qing Empire and the United Kingdom in 1898. Subsequently, China ceded these lands (present-day New Territories) to the British, giving them full jurisdiction to the area that was necessary to ensure proper military defence of the colony around the island. This New Territories includes 9 districts such as: North District, Sai Kung, Sha Tin, Tai Po, Islands District, Kwai Tsing District, Tsuen Wan, Tuen Mun, and Yuen Long.
