22 Apr 2018
Halifax, NS, Canada

While the area around Halifax has been inhabited by the native Mi'kmaq peoples for millennia, modern Halifax was founded in 1749 as a British military outpost. Today it is Atlantic Canada's entertainment and cultural capital, melding the old and new worlds. Modern office towers of glass and steel stand beside historic buildings that once stored the booty of privateers. Located on the second-largest natural harbor in the world, life here revolves around the sea, and the surrounding areas offer plenty of fun activities on land, in and on the water, and in the air. Spend some time exploring this vibrant urban center that rests the edge of nature, or join one of the optional excursions.

23 Apr 2018

Enjoy a day at sea enjoying lectures presented by the expedition team, attending photo courses to help you take great pictures on your trip, or simply relaxing and enjoying the stunning views from one of the outside decks or the observation lounge.

24 Apr 2018
St. John's, NL, Canada

St. John's is the oldest and easternmost city in North America. With its narrow streets and hidden alleyways, it is a city full of character and history. We recommend you explore the history here by visiting the striking twin clock towers of the Basilica of St. John the Baptist. You can also join optional excursions to explore this beautiful region.

25 Apr 2018
Miquelon, Saint Pierre And Miquelon

Even though Paris is thousands of miles away, the people living in St. Pierre and Miquelon are very proud of being French. This is France's oldest overseas territory and a part of the French Republic. So today you can enjoy a visit to a place where you'll find the typical French way of life with nice bistros and cafés, as well as delicious wines, cheeses, baguettes, chocolates, and pastries. You might even see people wearing berets! Join our optional excursions to Île aux Marins, or experience local life with a walking tour of St. Pierre.

26 Apr 2018
Louisbourg, NS, Canada

Sailing along the eastern shores of Nova Scotia, we head for the large island of Cape Breton. Then we reach Louisbourg, home to the Fortress of Louisbourg National Historic Site, a historic jewel. Here, you can experience what life was like in the bustling French-fortified town of Louisbourg in 1744. As you might expect, the rugged coastal setting offers plenty of outdoor adventures, including wonderful hiking and biking trails. As one of the busiest crab- and lobster-fishing villages in the Maritimes, Louisbourg Wharf is the perfect place to watch the day's catch coming in, and perhaps even sample some fresh seafood.

27 Apr 2018

A day at sea means you can join the lectures presented by the expedition team, and spend time out on deck or in the Panorama lounge with fellow travelers as we sail south. Perhaps enjoy a workout in our well-equipped fitness room with a panoramic ocean view, or let your muscles relax in one of the outdoor hot tubs.

28 Apr 2018
Portland, ME, United States

Portland, Maine, has so much to offer! Take a historic tour, enjoy hiking along the coastlines or in the woodlands, take advantage of the biking trails, or explore the iconic New England lighthouses in the area.

29 Apr 2018

On this final day at sea, our expedition team will review the highlights of the cruise, and we will raise a glass at the farewell dinner to toast this memorable journey.

30 Apr 2018
New York, NY, United States

Early in the morning, we arrive at the great metropolis of New York City, where it's time to say farewell.

Weekender In New York's Financial District

Manhattan’s oldest neighborhood, the Financial District, was forever considered the territory of bankers, without much in the way of nightlife or culture. In the last year, the completion of One World Trade Center and the architecturally significant Oculus building, as well as the opening of two incredible new hotels, The Four Seasons Hotel New York Downtown and The Beekman - A Thompson Hotel, have transformed it into one of Manhattan’s most dynamic new neighborhoods. We have designed an ideal weekend itinerary, including a unique sailing excursion, mixology class, walking tour and helicopter ride, as well as dining recommendations, to showcase the possibilities available without ever setting foot North of Chambers Street.

  • Friday Afternoon - City Overview: Arrive in the Big Apple and check into either The Four Seasons Hotel Downtown or The Beekman Hotel. No time to get comfy though, because the weekend starts with a literal overview of the city - from the cockpit of a private helicopter. Soar over the island of Manhattan as the city’s iconic landmarks are pointed out by a knowledgeable guide.
  • Friday Evening - No Prohibition Here: Take a private mixology class with a master bartender in the back room of one of New York’s coolest prohibition-style speakeasies. Learn the fundamental techniques of flavor building and drink construction, while whipping up a refreshing aperitif before heading out to dinner. For dinner, travel from 1920’s NYC to 1920’s Paris - at one of the most elegant Parisian style bistros this side of the Atlantic, Augustine, Keith McNally’s latest venture, and one of two restaurants located within the Beekman Hotel.
  • Saturday Morning - Once a Trading Post, Always a Trading Post: Wake up early and hit the streets for a walking tour with a local expert guide. Learn about the earliest chapters of the city’s history - back when it was a Dutch fur trading village known as New Amsterdam - and keep on the look out for relics of centuries past (Wall Street was named for the fortification that stood as protection from pirates, Native Americans and the British!). Afterwards, head to the architectural marvel that is the Oculus, perusing its fantastic shopping opportunities and admire its bold design, worth all of the $3.9 billion.
  • Saturday Afternoon - Views from the Icon: Join a guide for a private tour of one of the United States' most iconic buildings, the One World Trade Center. Fly up to the 100th floor in less than 60 seconds and to the observatory of the tallest skyscraper in the Western Hemisphere. Check out the discovery level next for a 360˚ view of the emblematic NYC skyline. Skip the line for the elevator and head back to earth.
  • Saturday Evening - Sunset Cruising: The evening begins with a cruise around the Statue of Liberty. Many visitors to the city take to the water to enjoy the views of the world’s most famous skyline, but few ever get the opportunity to enjoy the sunset this way; from the privacy of their own sailboat and with a glass of champagne in hand. Back onshore to one of Manhattan's other sought after destinations - dinner at Danny Meyer’s renowned North End Grill, just steps from the water.
  • Sunday Morning - The Real New Yorker Tradition: Brunch is the quintessential New York tradition, and one that no trip to NYC is complete without. For a truly new take on it savor the delectable one of a kind “foie graffle” at Tom Colicchio’s Fowler & Wells, on the ground floor of the Beekman Hotel. Leave the city feeling victorious, and start to think about which neighborhood to hit next time.
