Charming Hoi An
Danang, Vietnam's fourth largest city, has plenty of charm. Lots of development has occurred over the years and it boasts beautiful boulevards, bridges, and beachside resorts. On your way out of the city, you will make a stop at the famous Museum of Cham Scuplture, which houses the finest collection of Cham sculpture in the world. Very intricately carved sandstone sculptures dating from 2nd to 15th century reflect an ancient civilization.

The ride will continue through lovely landscape and bring you to Hoi An, a UNESCO World Heritage site. It's charming and you will tour on foot. It's an easy walk and will take you to the Hoi An Musaeum and the Tan Ky House, a beautifully-preserved home from the 19th centure. This is a private home and the owner, who will most likely be present, speaks English and French. It has been in his family for 7 generations.

Your walk will take you to the Japanese Covered Bridge, constructed in 1593 the Sa Huynh Museum nearby. These are in unbelievable condition and contain their own stories.

Follow this with a comfortable cyclos ride, the pedal rickshaw that can easily move people, each in his/her own cyclos, through the ancient town. This is the best way to see the narrow streets, shady pagodas, and bustling street life. You will stop at a lovely restaurant for a Vietnamese lunch by the Thu Bon River to relax a bit.

You will be tempted by the numerous galleries and shops. You may stop but it may impact the other stops on your tour.

If you wish, on your way back to Da Nang, you can stop at the Cam Chau latern-making village where you can interact with the local villagers and try your hand at making your own lantern.

A quick stop at China Beach will be your last stop before arriving back at the cruise port.

Hue, The Imperial City
Hue is the fourth largest largest city. It has much to see and mostly, feel. It is home to an architectural gem that time has forgot, an ancient religious capital, and nature reserves so dense that new creatures are discovered frequently.

Once you arrive into Hue, you will take a short cyclos ride, a pedal rickshaw, to the Imperial Citadel, which UNESCO has added to its list of World Heritage sites. As you enter through the toweing main gate, you will appreciate the magnificent architecture and gardens while your guide explains the events and the intrigue of the former royal court. Despite being heavily bombed, there are some incredible sections still intact and others that are lovingly restored. A short film runs constantly and helps you understand the impact of this era in Vietnam.

Lunch is served at one of the finest restaurants in the city, Ancient Hue Restaurant. This set menu is included in your tour. Beverages will be additional.

Refreshed, we will drive you to the outskirts of the city to see the most remarkable site, the Khai Dinh Royal Tomb. With each step you climb, you come closer to a true monument that this emperor built to honor himself. Though he was emperor for 9 years, it took 11 years to build and the interior is worth every step you take to reach the tomb. The architecture and atmosphere showcase elements of eastern art and western designs. The mosaics are incredible.

Your ride back to Da Nang and your ship departure will allow you to reflect on an amazing city and its history.
