From Auckland To The Waitomo Caves - Private Tour
Most of New Zealand's epic beauty comes from the stunning coastline and breath-taking inland mountain ranges. You can access these by road, hiking trails, kayaks, or even soar above them in six passenger airplanes. It's hard not to get caught up in this magnificence, but there are also underground chambers in Waitomo that have made a name for themselves as one of the best destinations in the country. Time to go underground!

After being picked up in your private vehicle, you will travel through the Waikato and King Country countryside. We will travel part of the famous Thermal Explorer Highway as far as Waitomo Caves, showing you some gorgeous New Zealand countryside along the way.

Once at Waitomo Caves, you will explore a natural landmark that has become a part of over 125 years of New Zealand history. A world-famous easy walk and boat ride through these amazing caves will show you the marvels of Mother Nature as thousands of remarkable Glowworms display themselves in what feels like a cinematic wonderland. A local guide will provide informative commentary on all aspects of the caves and how they have developed into what they are today. The Glowworms that line caves are unique to New Zealand and something you can't see anywhere else.

You will also have time for lunch (additional cost) at Waitomo before returning to Auckland in time for your cruise ship departure.

Beyond Auckland Combo Tour - Hobbiton Movie Set And Waitomo Caves
Within a day's journey we will bring you to two world famous attractions, New Zealand's famous Waitomo glowworm caves and the Hobbiton Movie Set.

After being picked up in your private vehicle, you will travel through the Waikato and King Country countryside. We will travel part of the famous Thermal Explorer Highway as far as Waitomo Caves, showing you some gorgeous New Zealand countryside along the way.

A local guide will provide informative commentary on all aspects of the caves and how they have developed into what they are today. The Glowworms that line caves are unique to New Zealand and something you can't see anywhere else.

Next up is Middle Earth, the town of Matamata. It now more commonly known as "Hobbiton Movie Set" since Peter Jackson chose it to be the humble home of J.R.R. Tolkien's beloved Hobbits from "The Lord of the Rings" and "The Hobbit" Movie trilogies.

Lots of cool information awaits, such as how this bucolic location, dotted with sheep farms, was chosen, how the sets were created and which scenes were filmed here. The inviting landscape makes you want to stay forever. You will thrill at the chance to see the Hobbit holes, The Green Dragon Inn (where Samwise Gamgee wooed Rosie Cotton) the Mill, the famous Party Tree where Gandolf set off fireworks at Bilbo's birthday party. And, I've saved the best for last. You will also visit Bag End, with its curious, yet irresistible round door with the door knob right in the middle. This charming place was the home of Bilbo Baggins, then Frodo Baggins and eventually, home of Samewise Gamgee, his wife Rosie and their little Hobbits.

You will arrive back in Auckland, dreaming of Hobbits and savoring the memories of the day.

Auckland Whale And Dolphin Adventure
Maybe you can walk on water, but we are going to bet you can't. Nature hikes are great because you can drive to a trailhead and step out into the woods for a chance to see some flora and fauna. This doesn't exactly work when it comes to creatures that dwell in the water. We can't exactly put together a "self-guided" whale and dolphin watching program for you. Regardless, what we can do is get you on the only research-based marine mammal excursion in New Zealand. How does that sound?

Working closely with the Department of Conservation and local universities, this experience provides the perfect combination of education and up-close viewing opportunities of whales, dolphins, and sea birds. On the large open deck, look back out over such Auckland landmarks as the Auckland Harbor Bridge, Devonport, and Rangitoto Island, all while scanning the water for orca and bottlenose dolphins who regularly visit the water near the city. Once out into the Hauraki Gulf Marine Park, your friendly crew will assist you in tracking down Bryde's whales, common dolphins, and a variety of unique sea birds.

Your skipper has over 14 years of experience and knows the best places to track down these majestic animals!

This program runs on a similar itinerary to the BEST OF AUCKLAND tour but with a Maori guide. Maori culture is a distinct aspect of New Zealand culture and your guide will provide unique insight into its history.

Amazing views. Award-winning food. Relaxing beaches. Subtropical rain forests. Polynesian culture. Glistening waters. Hiking trails. Hip cafes. We could go on and on, but we're guessing that you get the point. With all of these things to offer, it's no coincidence that Auckland stands as the largest city in all of New Zealand, and one that can't seem to grow fast enough for the number of newcomers looking to join the lifestyle. You will likely fall in love as well, but, for the sake of responsibilities you have waiting for you back home, we suggest you get on the airplane for your return flight.

At the Auckland Domain, you'll drive through Auckland's most storied park, which is home to cricket grounds, the Auckland War Memorial Museum and the beautiful Wintergarden.

Going through Parnell, you will scope out beautifully-restored, colonial-style houses and mansions in Auckland's oldest suburb. Along Tamaki Drive, you will see one of the most beautiful city drives in the world, covering Auckland's famous shoreline. At Mission Bay, you'll want to dig your toes into the sand at the locals' favorite spot for relaxing.

Enjoy the old marine village of Devonport underneath the volcanic cone of Mount Victoria. Small cafes and boutique shops line the blocks, creating the perfect atmosphere just outside of the city. Drive through Titirangi, which is Maori for "Fringe of Heaven", on the way to spectacularly beautiful Waitakere Ranges with its subtropical rainforest, amazing black sand beaches and native flora and fauna. Unique houses and art exhibits cling to the beautiful Manukau Harbor at the southern end of the Waitakere Ranges.

This day with a local will prove to you why this is considered one of the most livable and lovable cities in the world.

But that is not the case with Auckland. The very fabric of this hip urban center is intertwined with the past and the volcanoes that shaped it. Auckland West Coast Walking Tour - Private Tour
One of the main reasons so many people fall in love with Auckland is the natural beauty so easily found in and around the city. Most people can walk city streets back home, going through boutique shops and cozy cafes. We aren't saying this is a bad way to spend your time, but, if you have access to lush rain forests, amazing coastal views, and unique New Zealand flora, then take advantage of it!

After a pickup in central Auckland, you'll venture west, where you'll find the best hiking trails just outside the city. Passing through Titirangi, Maori for "Fringe of Heaven," provides the perfect introduction to your arrival into the Waitakere Ranges. Cruising through this subtropical rain forest, your guide will give you the rundown on all of the plants and animals native to this region. At the Arataki Visitor Center, soak in the views of Auckland's city center and the expanse of the Waitakere Ranges.

Once you travel farther towards the west coast and away from the crowds, you'll hit the trails and start maneuvering your way through the forest. Stops to examine indigenous plants along the way will break up your hike and give you a better grasp of the history of the area. Keep your eye out for the iconic silver fern, which serves as a symbol for all things New Zealand. Views of everything from massive kauri trees to the Tasman sea will be included in the highlights of your day. You will undoubtedly work up an appetite and a picnic lunch overlooking what Auckland's volcanic activity has created provides the ultimate reflection.

Make sure you a bring a camera, but we can assure you that pictures will not do your day ahead any justice.

From Auckland To Hobbiton - Private Tour
Even though this tour involves a bit of journey, you will find it well worth the drive. Although you are anticipating your destination, please don't ignore the fabulous scenery through which you will travel. The rolling hills will reveal small historic river towns. You will marvel at the sacred Taupiri Moutain and Ngaruawahia, home of the famous Turangawaewaw Marae (Maori meeting place) and the seat of Aotearoa's Maori King. We've almost arrived at Middle-Earth, the town of Matamata. It now more commonly known as "Hobbiton Movie Set" since Peter Jackson chose it to be the humble home of J.R.R. Tolkien's beloved Hobbits from "The Lord of the Rings" and "The Hobbit" Movie trilogies.

When booking this 2-hour tour, you will have the option of choosing the general tour of the Hobbiton Movie Set, where you will join other visitors or the private tour, which will allow you to act as director for a few minutes. You'll even get to call "action", just like "in the movies"!

Lot's of cool information awaits, such as how this bucolic location, dotted with sheep farms, was chosen, how the sets were created and which scenes were filmed here.

Waiheke Island One Day itinerary

Waiheke Island is the ultimate island retreat. Clients will feel another world away, and yet Waiheke Island is just a 35-minute ferry ride from downtown Auckland or a 10 minute helicopter transfer. Known as the ‘island of wine’ for its many award winning boutique wineries and vineyards, a wine tasting or private tour is a must.

Waiheke Island is one of Auckland’s 3 wine regions that produces critically acclaimed wine and provides distinctive wine and cuisine experiences. Waiheke Island’s climate is strongly influenced by the surrounding sea.

The ocean acts as both a fan and an insulator. Sea breezes moderate rising temperatures in mid-summer and the falling temperatures of night.

Waiheke Island historically grew a Bordeaux style of wine, however more recently varieties such as Chardonnay, Pinot Gris and Sauvignon Blanc are also making an appearance.

With regular ferry crossings with Fullers, clients can join a wine tour for the day and chose to return to downtown Auckland at their leisure.

To complement to the fine wines you will taste on Waiheke Island is the range of delectable hand-made specialty foods and locally-grown produce.

Each vineyard offers gourmet samples to accompany their wines, such as succulent local oysters, wild honey and olive oil, accompanied by a cheese board.

For those seeking some thrill, add a zip line adventure to a clients tour. Ananda Tours collect your clients from Matiatia Wharf and transfer to the EcoZip Adventures site on Trig Hill for a flying fox zip line and guided hike experience.

Three 200m dual flying fox zip lines will fly thrill seekers smoothly side-by-side with a partner, friend or relative down into a stunning tract of original and regenerating native forest.

It's a scenic interpretive walk back to base, where you'll learn about local flora and fauna and the conservation of our spectacular natural environment. Afterwards, clients are collected and taken to three of the top vineyards on the Island, according to preference and seasonal availability. The tour includes a platter-style lunch at one of these vineyards.

Clients will then be returned to a late afternoon ferry back to Auckland.
