In the late afternoon, embark the ship and cruise the lower part of the Willamette River, passing under the many bridges and through the center of picturesque Portland, before reaching the Columbia River.

We begin our journey by navigating the Columbia to the mouth of the river at Astoria. At Fort Clatsop, where the explorers of the Lewis and Clark Expedition hunkered down for the wet winter of 1805-1806, we walk through the full-scale reconstructed fort. Visit the Columbia River Maritime Museum, which chronicles the history of river navigation and of this port town. In the afternoon, you can choose to visit Cape Disappointment or ride in an expedition landing craft or kayak in the Lewis and Clark Wildlife Refuge, conditions permitting. (B,L,D)

This morning we begin our orientation to the Gorge. You'll get a fresh perspective on such highlights as Bonneville Lock and Dam, Beacon Rock, and Multnomah Falls. Continue through the Gorge to Hood River where we'll visit the Western Antique Aeroplane & Automobile Museum (WAAAM), home to one of the largest collections of still-functioning antique cars and planes in the country. In the afternoon we'll visit the Maryhill Museum with its impressive collection of Rodin sculptures and drawings, extensive collection of Native American baskets, and other fascinating exhibits. We'll also visit the Cascade Cliffs Winery for a tour and tasting. (B,L,D)

The still water of the Palouse River is the perfect mirror for the surrounding basalt cliffs as we set off on our expedition landing craft cruises and kayak adventures. Visit Palouse Falls where cascading waters plunge into the pool below. Afterwards, sail up the Snake River, enjoying a taste of local specialties. (B,L,D)

Deposits: To reserve your place, an advance payment for the program as outlined is required and is payable by Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover or check. The per person amount due is noted on each dates and rates screen.

Final Payment: For expeditions of eight nights or less, final payment is due 60 days prior to departure. For expeditions of nine nights or more, final payment is due 90 days prior to departure.

Note: Every effort has been made to produce pricing information accurately. Lindblad Expeditions reserves the right to correct promotional or pricing errors at any time, or to increase the Price in the event of cost increases due to changes in airfares, currency fluctuations, park fee increases, taxes, or fuel surcharges.

Responsibility and Other Terms & Conditions

Certain other provisions concerning, among other things, limitations of Lindblad Expeditions; and the National Geographic Society's liability for loss of property, injury, illness or death during the voyage will be provided to all guests on the cruise ticket sent prior to departure, and are also available where within this site or upon request. By registering for a trip, the guest agrees to all such terms and conditions.


Lindblad Expeditions may amend these terms and conditions at any time. All amended terms and conditions shall automatically be effective upon being posted by Lindblad Expeditions to the Site. Cost Includes:
