After breakfast, fly to Kasane, Botswana, where you'll board the elegant Zambezi Queen on the Namibian side of the Chobe River. Late this afternoon, enjoy the riverside scenery before your Welcome Cocktail and Dinner onboard. (B,D)

DAY 3
River (Cruising)

This morning embark on a boat safari to explore the Chobe River's spectacular game viewing. Then journey back to the Zambezi Queen for lunch and time to relax onboard. Later today, enjoy a slightly different version of a river safari aboard a special double decker barge, which will allow you to venture into the southern channels. This excursion will offer you an unusual viewpoint to observe hippos and elephants in their natural habitat. (B,L,D)

DAY 4
River (Cruising)

Join a full-day safari of Chobe National Park in open-top 4x4 vehicles. Chobe National Park is home to one of the most dense populations of wildlife in Africa. Be on the lookout for elephants, giraffe, zebra, sable, warthog, and Cape buffalo. Prides of lions, hyenas, and more rarely cheetahs, are normally visible along the way. Lunch will be a delicious picnic served up under the trees. (B,L,D)

DAY 5
River (Cruising)

This morning, enjoy an unforgettable visit to a typical African village to experience the local culture first hand. Spend time with the children of the village as well as its elders and learn about their day-to-day life. After lunch onboard, you can choose your afternoon activity including an afternoon safari by boat, bird watching, or fishing. Tonight your crew hosts an Africa-themed dinner complete with singing and dancing. (B,L,D)

DAY 6
Kasane, Botswana
Victoria Falls, Zambia

Transfer to legendary Victoria Falls, one of the nature's greatest natural wonders. Settle into your hotel and spend the afternoon exploring the town or experience one of the many activities offered at your hotel. This evening you have a special cocktail reception aboard an iconic steam train followed by dinner. (B,D)

DAY 7
Victoria Falls, Zambia

Join a local guide for a tour of remarkable Victoria Falls, more commonly referred to as the smoke that thunders. The afternoon is free for independent activities. Relax and enjoy the amenities of your historic hotel, walk into town, or perhaps take an optional outing including a helicopter ride over the falls. Tonight, embark on a private and festive Sundowner cruise complete with drinks, tapas, and music. (B)

Victoria Falls, Zambia

After a leisurely breakfast, a flight to Johannesburg brings you to the largest city in South Africa. After arriving at your hotel, settle into your suite and relax in the park-like setting. Before dinner, gather for an informative discussion on the day-to-day life of the South African bushmen in the Kalahari Desert. (B,D)

Head out this morning for a fascinating look at Johannesburg and the rich history it has to share, from colonialism to apartheid, and finally democracy. Get an in-depth look at Soweto, the center of the uprising against the apartheid state. Walk the footsteps of Nelson Mandela and explore the colorful neighborhoods, parks, and squares of Soweto. Enjoy a delicious "township" lunch along the way. (B,L)

Kilimanjaro International Airport, Tanzania
Arusha, Tanzania

Fly to Arusha, via Nairobi, where you will be met by an AmaWaterways representative at Kilimanjaro Airport and transfered to the Arusha Coffee Lodge. The lodge provides a peaceful and calming retreat before you start your Tanzanian safari. (B,D)

DAY 11
Arusha, Tanzania
Tarangire National Park, Tanzania

Enjoy a scenic drive to Tarangire. Take an afternoon safari drive, followed by a visit to Masai village. Spend two nights in a Tree House that rests on the branches of thousand-year old marula and baobab trees overlooking Treetops' private reserve. (B,L,D)

DAY 12
Tarangire National Park, Tanzania

Enjoy a full day of activities including game-drives, and a sunset drive in the bush. The meals at the Treetops are also their own unique experiences to be enjoyed. (B,L,D)

DAY 13
Tarangire National Park, Tanzania
Lake Manyara National Park, Tanzania
Ngorongoro, Tanzania

Drive to Lake Manyara National Park for a game-drive and picnic lunch. Then on to the renowned Ngorongoro Manor. (B,L,D)

DAY 14
Ngorongoro, Tanzania

You'll enjoy a full day of exploration of the Ngorongoro Crater. Once a gigantic volcano, it is the largest intact caldera in the world and shelters one of the most beautiful wildlife havens on earth. A picnic hamper lunch will be served on the crater floor. After lunch, explore more of the crater before heading back to the Manor for evening cocktails, dinner, and an overnight stay. (B,L,D)

DAY 15
Ngorongoro, Tanzania

Serengeti National Park, Tanzania

After breakfast you will be transferred to Manyara Airstrip for your Serengeti flight. Upon your arrival you'll enjoy a game drive en route to the luxurious camp where your lunch will be served. This afternoon, it is time for another drive. (B,L,D)

DAY 16
Serengeti National Park, Tanzania

Today you'll have two game drives exploring the vast Serengeti, one in the morning and another after lunch. It is not possible to say with any accuracy where the Great Migration of the Wildebeest will be located at any one time. There are a number of determining factors; however, one can be assured that if there is a good chance of seeing it, then this can be accomplished from the Pioneer Camp or Migration Camp. (B,L,D)

DAY 17
Serengeti National Park, Tanzania

Arusha, Tanzania

This morning take your final safari drive. Then transfer to the airstrip for your flight back to Arusha. Lunch will be served in the gardens of the lodge before your final transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport. Do not schedule onward flights before 6 pm. (B,L)

Prices are per-person, U.S. dollars, based on double occupancy of a cabin, or standard hotel room, unless indicated otherwise. | Single rates are available for the cruise-only, at a supplement of plus-50% for standard rooms, plus-100% for other rooms, such as deluxe rooms and suites. | Single rates for land are available at a supplement. | Please see individual itineraries for amount of the supplement. | Pricing accuracy is assured only at time of printing. | If any of the cost factors increases, such as airfare, port or dock charges, fuel, insurance, taxes, surcharges or other, we reserve the right to increase cruise or cruise tour prices without notice.

Cancellation Policy: For any cruise/land booking, whether under deposit, partially paid, or paid in full, including air packages, the following travel agent or guest-requested situations are considered cancellations and penalties will apply as noted below: changes to departure date; substitutions of itinerary; substitution of another person for original booked guest(s); or changing to a promotional fare. All cancellations must be in writing. For all air-inclusive packages cancelled after issuance of an airline ticket, the air portion of the refund, if any, will be processed only after the return of airline ticket. The following cancellation charges will be assessed for all written cancellations received prior to departure up to the scheduled time of departure.

Cancellation received | Following charges will apply: (Broken out by days before departure) 121 days or more is $200 per person | 120-90 days is $400 per person | 89-60 days is 35% of full fare | 59-30 days is 50% of full fare | 29-7 days is 80% of full fare | 6 days prior to sailing is 100% cancellation. Full Fare is defined as the full cost of any cruise, land or air component purchased from AmaWaterways. All air purchased through AmaWaterways has a cancellation penalty of $350 per person for Economy and $600 per person for Business class. In the event you purchase a non-refundable ticket, the full fare is under penalty.

*Certain airline tickets, including all intra-Asia Flights within 90 days of departure and published price tickets, are 100% non-refundable. Penalty rates shown are for flight arrangements deposited/booked from July 1, 2014 onward. Except as otherwise provided in your Passenger Ticket Contract, after travel begins, there is no refund for unused services, or unused portions of cruise, cruise/tour or airfare.
