Nürnberg, Germany

Depart from Prague after breakfast via luxury motorcoach and enjoy a short stop in Karlovy Vary, better known by its German name, Carlsbad, which is famous for its Bohemian Spas. After lunch, drive through the pastoral Bohemian countryside to Nuremberg, the capital of Franconia. Tonight, meet your fellow passengers at the Gala Welcome Dinner. The ship will moor overnight in Nuremberg. (B,D)

DAY 2
Nürnberg, Germany

Today, take the Medieval History of Nuremberg tour and see the storybook 900-year-old ramparts that surround the Imperial Castle. Previously one of Europe’s greatest trade towns, see some of the original medieval city walls and towers constructed around Nuremberg. Visit the Beautiful Fountain, and learn the legend that relates to this architectural landmark. Another option is the World War II tour to explore Nuremberg during the time of the Third Reich. Designated the “City of the Reichsparteitage” (Nazi Party Rallies), visit Zeppelin Field and visit Hitler’s Party Rally grounds. See the Justice Palace, where the War Crimes Tribunal sat in 1946, and the Coliseum. Afterwards, spend free time discovering more of cultural Nuremberg such as the medieval fortification wall, Imperial Castle, Old Town Hall, or Albrecht Durer’s House. (B,L,D)

DAY 3
Regensburg, Germany

This morning’s scenic cruising takes you through the final stretch of the Main-Danube Canal to arrive in magnificent Regensburg, one of Germany's best-preserved medieval cities. A guided tour will show you the city's architectural highlights, including the Old Town Hall and the Porta Praetoria -- gates to an ancient Roman fort which was built in 179 AD. Marvel at beautiful churches and one of the oldest bridges crossing the Danube. Or, in the alternative, take a tour of the Audi Car Factory to see state-of-the-art car manufacturing. In the afternoon, you are free to join the optional excursion to beautiful Weltenburg Abbey and see the scenic Danube Gorge (seasonal) or take a guided bike tour to visit the Walhalla Temple, which honors distinguished Germans throughout history. In the evening enjoy a musical performance onboard. (B,L,D)

DAY 4
Passau, Germany
Linz, Austria

After breakfast, arrive in picturesque Passau, where the Inn and Ilz Rivers join the Danube. Later in the day, arrive in Linz, Austria's third largest city and a major river port. Or, choose an optional excursion to Salzburg from Passau, returning to the ship in Linz. (B,L,D)

Melk, Austria
Vienna, Austria

Cruise through the narrow Strudengau and reach the Wachau Valley early this morning. Your guided tour takes you to Melk's magnificent Benedictine abbey. Return to the ship for lunch as you cruise the romantic Wachau Valley. Arrive in Vienna, the "City of Music", before dinner. Explore the magnificent Austrian capital on your own and visit the historic center, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, or while in the music capital of the world, enjoy an optional evening Mozart and Strauss concert held in a great formal concert house. Following the concert there will be an illumination tour of the Ringstrasse. (B,L,D)

DAY 6
Vienna, Austria

Savor the Baroque elegance of romantic Vienna on the guided city tour which includes the world-famous Vienna Opera House, the majestic Ringstrasse, the awe-inspiring St. Stephen’s Cathedral, and more. The tour is followed by free time in the city center to shop for souvenirs or sampling some of Vienna’s famous pastries. In the alternative, join an optional tour to the Imperial Schönbrunn Palace, a fine example of Baroque architecture. Built originally as the summer residence of the Hapsburg Emperors, it became one of their favored homes. Your tour will include a guided tour of the Imperial apartments, the living quarters of the Emperors, still complete with their furnishings. (B,L,D)

DAY 7
Budapest, Hungary

This morning, the sightseeing tour takes you to historic Buda Castle from where you can enjoy a splendid view of the formerly separate twin cities of Buda and Pest spread over both banks of the River. Your tour also features the distinctive Fisherman's Bastion, the marvelous Royal Palace, St. Stephen's Basilica, the famous Heroes’ square, the Great Market Hall, and more. The afternoon optional excursion takes you back to the Hungarian Revolution of 1956. What started out as a student demonstration, quickly spread across the country, causing an uprising against the Communist regime. See the Parliament Building still bearing bullet holes from the Soviet intervention. Also, visit the “House of Terror”, a feared location of the Hungarian secret police. Tonight enjoy a Gala Farewell Dinner. Afterwards, the ship will sail a special “Illuminations Cruise” past the illuminated river front of Budapest at 9 pm. (B,L,D)

Budapest, Hungary

Your fascinating cruise comes to an end and transfers to the airport are arranged for your homeward flights. (B)

Cancellation Policy: For any cruise/land booking, whether under deposit, partially paid, or paid in full, including air packages, the following travel agent or guest-requested situations are considered cancellations and penalties will apply as noted below: changes to departure date; substitutions of itinerary; substitution of another person for original booked guest(s); or changing to a promotional fare. All cancellations must be in writing. For all air-inclusive packages cancelled after issuance of an airline ticket, the air portion of the refund, if any, will be processed only after the return of airline ticket. The following cancellation charges will be assessed for all written cancellations received prior to departure up to the scheduled time of departure.

Full Fare is defined as the full cost of any cruise, land or air component purchased from AmaWaterways. All air purchased through AmaWaterways has a cancellation penalty of $350 per person for Economy and $600 per person for Business class. In the event you purchase a non-refundable ticket, the full fare is under penalty.

*Certain airline tickets, including all intra-Asia Flights within 90 days of departure and published price tickets, are 100% non-refundable. Penalty rates shown are for flight arrangements deposited/booked from July 1, 2014 onward. Except as otherwise provided in your Passenger Ticket Contract, after travel begins, there is no refund for unused services, or unused portions of cruise, cruise/tour or airfare.
