After breakfast, depart Prague and drive through the pastoral German countryside to Nuremberg. Enjoy a panoramic tour of Nuremberg, with its fabulous Gothic churches and impressive city walls. See the infamous Zeppelin Field, where Hitler once held his Nazi Party rallies, and the Justice Palace where the War Crimes Tribunal sat in 1946. Late this afternoon, you will board your luxurious ship and meet your fellow passengers at the Welcome Dinner. The ship departs tonight for Bamberg. (B,D)

Schweinfurt, Germany

This morning you will arrive in the medieval town of Bamberg. Enjoy a walking tour of this picturesque UNESCO World Heritage site, with sights that include the cathedral and Old Town Hall that straddles the river. Explore the serpentine streets lined with charming houses and sample some of Bamberg's famous smoked beer before returning to the ship. Continue your cruise early this afternoon. You will have free time after arriving in Schweinfurt tonight. The ship sails for Kitzingen overnight. (B,L,D)

Würzburg, Germany

This morning you will arrive in Kitzingen for a walking tour. You'll see the famous Leaning Tower, built in the 13th century, the Old Main Bridge, Kitzingen Church, and the Renaissance Town Hall. Later, the Aulic Council and Wine Queen will welcome you to Germany's oldest wine cellar, where you will taste several different wines and learn about the history of wine production in the region. This afternoon, take a guided tour of Würzburg, showing you all of the major sights, or visit the Residenz Palace and gardens, a designated UNESCO World Heritage site and one of Europe's best examples of Baroque architecture. Another possibility is an optional excursion to the medieval town of Rothenburg, a beautiful walled city situated on the Romantic Road, where you will have a walking tour and free time to explore on your own. Rejoin the ship in Würzburg. We cruise overnight tonight to Wertheim. (B,L,D)

Wertheim, Germany

This morning, you will have a guided walking tour of Wertheim, a town that has retained much of its medieval charm and character. As an alternative, take a guided bike tour from Wertheim along the beautiful Main River Valley (capacity controlled). After lunch, the ship will cruise towards Mainz. (B,L,D)

Mainz, Germany
Rüdesheim am Rhein, Germany
Koblenz, Germany

Early this morning, the ship will cruise through the Rhine River Gorge, famous for its beautiful and imposing castles and the legendary Lorelei Rock. Arrive in Mainz after breakfast and choose one of two excursions. The first is a walking tour of beautiful Mainz, where you will visit the Gutenberg Museum, home to one of the world's first bibles printed with movable type. As an alternative, you may chose an excursion to Heidelberg, Germany's oldest university town, where you can visit the red-walled Heidelberg Castle and its Great Vat, and take a walking tour of the historic old quarter. Later, stop in Rüdesheim to visit Siegfried's Mechanical Music Museum, which houses a fantastic collection of robotic and self-playing musical instruments from the 18th to the 20th centuries. From Rüdesheim, we depart late afternoon for Koblenz, arriving in time for an evening walking tour. The ship cruises overnight towards Cochem. (B,L,D)

Cochem, Germany
Zell, Germany

Wake up this morning in Cochem, a fairy-tale village surrounded by scenic vineyards. Walk along narrow cobblestone streets lined with medieval houses and enjoy a guided tour of Reichsburg Castle situated high above the town. From the castle grounds, you'll have a spectacular view of the river. As an alternative, take a guided bike tour (capacity controlled) through the region's incredible landscape. Early this afternoon, the ship will cruise past hillside vineyards en route to Zell, arriving early evening. The town's Mayor and Wine Queen will be on hand to warmly welcome you to a memorable wine festival. The ship moors overnight in Zell. (B,L,D)

DAY 7
Zell, Germany
Trier, Germany

The ship departs after lunch and arrives mid-afternoon in Trier, Germany's oldest city and a UNESCO World Heritage site. This area is renowned for its rich ancient Roman past, and your guided tour will include such sights as the old Roman amphitheater, Roman baths, Basilica of Constantine, and the Porta Nigra gate that dates back to 180 AD. This evening, the ship cruises towards the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. (B,L,D)

DAY 8
Remich, Luxembourg

This morning, bid farewell to the ship and set off on a scenic transfer to the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. En route, you will stop at the American Cemetery and Memorial, the final resting place of General George Patton. Later, you will enjoy a walking tour of Luxembourg and have free time for lunch on your own before boarding a TGV high-speed train to Paris. Arrive mid-afternoon and check in to your hotel. An optional "Montmartre & Illuminations" tour is available tonight. (B)

Brochure prices are per-person, U.S. dollars, based on double occupancy of a cabin, or standard hotel room, unless indicated otherwise. | Single rates are available for the cruise-only, at a supplement of plus-50% for standard rooms, plus-100% for other rooms, such as deluxe rooms and suites. | Single rates for land are available at a supplement. | Please see individual itineraries for amount of the supplement. | Pricing accuracy is assured only at time of printing. | If any of the cost factors increases, such as airfare, port or dock charges, fuel, insurance, taxes, surcharges or other, we reserve the right to increase cruise or cruise tour prices without notice.

Cancellation Policy: For any cruise/land booking, whether under deposit, partially paid, or paid in full, including air packages, the following travel agent or guest-requested situations are considered cancellations and penalties will apply as noted below: changes to departure date; substitutions of itinerary; substitution of another person for original booked guest(s); or changing to a promotional fare. All cancellations must be in writing. For all air-inclusive packages cancelled after issuance of an airline ticket, the air portion of the refund, if any, will be processed only after the return of airline ticket. The following cancellation charges will be assessed for all written cancellations received prior to departure up to the scheduled time of departure.

Cancellation received | Following charges will apply: (Broken out by days before departure) 121 days or more is $200 per person | 120-90 days is $400 per person | 89-60 days is 35% of full fare | 59-30 days is 50% of full fare | 29-7 days is 80% of full fare | 6 days prior to sailing is 100% cancellation. Full Fare is defined as the full cost of any cruise, land or air component purchased from AmaWaterways. All air purchased through AmaWaterways has a cancellation penalty of $350 per person for Economy and $600 per person for Business class. In the event you purchase a non-refundable ticket, the full fare is under penalty.

*Certain airline tickets, including all intra-Asia Flights within 90 days of departure and published price tickets, are 100% non-refundable. Penalty rates shown are for flight arrangements deposited/booked from July 1, 2014 onward. Except as otherwise provided in your Passenger Ticket Contract, after travel begins, there is no refund for unused services, or unused portions of cruise, cruise/tour or airfare.
