  • Housed in a former paper factory less than a mile from the recently expanded Tate Modern, London’s new Italian food hall, Mercato Metropolitano, provides much more than estate olive oils, aged prosciutto, and artisan cheeses at its branch of the Palermo-based Prezzemolo & Vitale grocers. The gourmet destination also hosts a Neapolitan pizzeria, a coffee roaster, and a brewery (among other draws), as well as cultural spaces devoted to everything from chef talks andcooking classes to cinema series and, in fairer weather, on-site gardens and street-food kiosks.
