Kristin McGlauflin

I grew up in Eastern North Carolina and spent a lot of time exploring the waterways around Shackleford Banks and Cape Lookout with my mother. My father introduced us to more distant locales, enabling me to experience much of the East Coast, from Canada to Florida, by adulthood. At eighteen, my first venture abroad was to Costa Rica, just before starting art school. My father and I connected with a Costa Rican student from my future university, leading to an incredible cultural exchange with a welcoming family. Their hospitality was reciprocated the following year. The rich cultural and natural beauty of Costa Rica—embodying the "Pura Vida" lifestyle—have drawn me back repeatedly. My passion for art, culture, and nature has profoundly shaped my travel ethos. I advocate for sustainable travel, striving to minimize our footprint and enrich the communities we visit. I also support inclusive travel, hoping to share the transformative joy of discovery with others. For seasoned travelers who dread planning or novices unsure where to begin, I offer my assistance.
