Katy Paterson

Katy is beginning her career as a Travel Advisor with 30 years personal travel experience, including 10+ years living overseas, and a strong passion for travel. Katy’s love for travel began in college when she spent a semester abroad in Granada, Spain where she was fortunate to immerse herself in the daily Spanish life. While living in Europe Katy also visited other countries including France, Italy, Switzerland, Portugal, Czech Republic and Austria.

Early in her professional career in online advertising and e-commerce Katy relocated to Sydney, Australia for a job opportunity in 2006 where she lived for 4 years. This also is where she met her Aussie husband. During her time in “the land Down Under" she traveled to different parts of Australia including Melbourne, Brisbane, Cairns, Whitsunday Islands and Tasmania, along with some memorable solo trips to New Zealand and Thailand. Katy considers Australia her second home. She and her family visit as much as possible.

In 2010 Katy moved to Singapore where she lived for 6 years. While living in Asia Katy traveled to a number of countries including Cambodia, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia and Vietnam. She and her husband were married in Bali, Indonesia which makes this a special place to her. Their son was born in Singapore in 2013 and took his first Bali vacation when he was only 4 months old. Uluwatu and Jimbaran Bay are some of her favorite spots in Bali away from the busier parts of the island. Katy, her husband and son visited Vietnam and Cambodia in 2015 which she still considers one of her most memorable trips.

Katy and her family moved to Northern California in 2016 where she is now based in Marin County, just north of San Francisco, and not far from her hometown of Sebastopol. A few of the things she loves most about where she lives are the number of beautiful hiking trails and the proximity to wine country and the ocean. Yoga, hiking, spending time with her family and friends, and of course travel, are some of Katy’s favorite things. Her passion for travel remains strong and some of her more recent travel destinations closer to home include Mexico, Hawaii, New York, Boston and Miami. She and her family also plan to continue their international travels.

Katy believes travel is one of the best educational opportunities in an individual’s lifetime and she hopes to help others create these special journeys for themselves, their families and friends.
