I guess I could best describe myself as a born wanderer. I took my first trip alone on an airplane to germany in 1970 at the age of 16. My purpose at the time was to augment my high school German, and to see the world. Of course I was immediately hooked on travel. I have been to 6 of the seven continents and soon I will do the ultimate adventure to Antarctica.

I can't tell you what is my most favourite destination as there have been so many wonderful opportunities including variations of transport, as well as the locations. I have experienced hiking in Tuscany, exploring Egypt's pyramids by balloon, I attended a Peace Tourism convention in Tel Aviv, went tenting in the Masi Mara in Kenya, and enjoyed an earth day in a garden in Angor Wat to name a few. That's the thing about travel the more you experience the more you gain an understanding of the adventures that could be leading you wanting to see more. For me it is about the vistas, the scents, the people you meet, and of course sampling of local and unfamiliar food.

I have escorted many groups over the years and my clients and I have built many custom trips together. Also in my portfolio I have done over 50 destination weddings from Santorini in Greece, to the caribbean, on land and on sea. I have chartered planes, booked famous trains and picked perfect honeymoon destinations. After nearly 40 years in the industry I am heading in a different direction.

I have cruised extensively on the most of the oceans and waterways of Europe, The Mekong, through the Panama canal and the exotic Nile and most recently this winter Singapore to Sydney then Sydney to Auckland. I plan to take this expertise and concentrate on Virtuoso Voyages and hosting on these great cruises. Perhaps one day you could join me on one of those sailings.
