Kari Tannis

Ever since I was in junior high school I had a fascination with geography. I grew up in Canada where it is a “required” subject starting in junior high.

I originally wanted to be a missionary and travel the world helping under-served children and adults.

As time progressed I had other aspirations and after 3 years of college was hired by the airlines as a flight attendant. I flew with Braniff Airlines for 8 years or until they filed bankruptcy in 1982.

I loved traveling and wanted to stay in the travel business so I decided to attend school to become a Travel Agent.

I graduated in 1983 and immediately started working at a really busy Travel Agency in Boca Raton, Florida. I was put on the front lines handling constant calls and walk in's. We booked travel to every part of the world for business and leisure travelers. I learned a lot very quickly.

I moved into management a couple of years later and learned all I could about the day to day operations of a Travel Agency.

I moved to Colorado in 1986 and continued working in the Travel Business again in a busy agency environment.

I have traveled to over 60 countries on my own and on agent familiarization trips. I traveled by bicycle in many European, North American and Asian countries.
