They say if you want to know where your heart is, look where your mind goes when it wanders. Travel is where my heart is and has been since I was a small child.

Depending on the day, I may find my mind wandering to Italy where I can dine on fresh, made-by-Nonna tortellini, sipping a bold Barolo, surrounded by ancient history and passing the time as only the Italians know-how. Or maybe I'm dreaming of Thailand and exquisite beaches, crystalline waters, bold, spicy food, and some of the most friendly locals you could ever meet.

Other times I find I'm back in the savannas of Africa, longing for the majestic roar of the lion, the rumble of a herd of elephants, the exhilaration of a cheetah hunt, and the singular feeling of understanding what a small place in the world we occupy.

When the rush of a city is what I need, I'm transported to the bustling metropolises of New York, Hong Kong, or London where the bright lights and crowded streets create an energy unlike anywhere else on Earth.

When nature calls, I find myself back in Iceland hiking near waterfalls or moss fields, or in the tranquil hills of Bali where the rice fields loom in all of their green glory.
