Late 2024 completed a year filled with visiting new and old hidden gems throughout the Med: Italy with focus on Rome, Southern Italy, Sardinia and Sicily. Rediscovered Malta, Many cultural coastal towns in Southern Spain and small towns along the way. Gibraltar was a new discovery and I re-discovered parts of Morocco. A return trip to Lisbon made me appreciate the city and people for a 4th time. I got "stuck" in Lisbon an extra night because of airline issues and i was thankful.

A gentle 1 week walking trip with Backroads with my son took me to British Columbia in the fall. Late 2023 I travelled to the Mekong River with AMA Waterways in Vietnam and Cambodia with a full day at Angkor Wat, What a treat! Amazing scenery, countryside walks, history and adventurous water and street markets. I am always excited to present new destinations to you, my valued travelers :) Hope to be heading to Colombia, Peru and and Ireland in 2025 and contine to discover lesser visited destinations .

With travel back in full swing I have been able to add new and old destinations to my travels. I revisited London and Normandy and discovered new gems in Brittany and Northern Spain. I styed in English manor homes in the countryside and historic inns in Spain.

2022 I found myself once again in Portugal and revisited the Ligurian coast of Italy, which is still off-the beaten path for North American visitors.

I discovered new places throughout the Canary Islands with its untouched beauty. Spent time in Holland and Amsterdam, Germany, my home country and the Ligurian coast of Italy in 2021.

2019 took me on extended trips to new favorite places: Cuba and Sri Lanka, both destinations couldn't be more different, exciting and beautiful!

Since starting at a young age, I have traveled most of Europe and the US via car, ship, airplane or organized ­­tour. My interest in exploring the hidden gems of the world has never waned.

For most of my adult life, I have worked in the travel business with American Express Travel, both in Germany and later in the US as a Travel Counselor, Tour Guide and Travel Agency Manager.

Travel opportunities have taken me to every state in the US and to over 70 countries, many of those locations more than once. I have traveled the world via small ships and have enjoyed small group travel with family and friends on various modes of transportation. While discovering new places, wherever they may be, I love hiking, biking, enjoying amazing new food and taking side trips to learn about the local people, culture and architecture.
