Elizabeth Lakic

My first plane ride was in 1968, when I was nine months old. As new immigrants to Canada, my parents had no family or friends here, so they put me on a plane and flew me to Croatia so my grandparents could look after me for about a year.

I think I must have been bitten on that flight…by the travel bug, because I’ve loved to travel ever since.

In grade school I had a natural aptitude for geography and in highschool I took Latin “just for fun”.

My favourite tv shows always featured the exotic…”Mutual of Omaha’s Wild Kingdom” was one of my favourites. Anything to do with National Geographic automatically caught my attention. I loved learning about different cultures and I knew even back then that someday, I would see a lot of these things for myself, not on tv.

Fast forward, nearly 40 years later, I’ve not only experienced so many amazing destinations myself, but have happily shared my knowledge and experience with clients.
