Michael Holland

His father began a charter flight business after the Navy, and Michael began flying with him at a young age. Michael’s transition from air to sea was complete when he became the youngest chief purser for Royal Caribbean International. He served as diplomatic liaison, was responsible for more than $1 million in all shipboard revenue, casino transactions and payroll, dealt with immigration and customs, and interacted with celebrities, heads of state, and royal families.

During his time on ships, Michael purchased a vacation rental property in Puerto Vallarta in 1995. He sailed the world many times during his 12 years at sea. Michael’s next adventure was to operate a Holland Travel division specializing in niche travel groups, such as international yacht charters and wine club tours and cruises. Michael now operates Holland Travel, LLC and Puerto Vallarta Villas, which operates offices in Puerto Vallarta and Illinois with sales reps in California, Illinois, Georgia and Pennsylvania. Holland is very proud of his involvement with local charities and orphanages. Recent accolades in Puerto Vallarta was to be in the top producers list of luxury vacation and primary villas and condos. 2022 Holland is a top produced with an average sale resulting in the top 5% of agents. Also experience in luxury Paris real estate sales representing a sale of a luxury apartment in the Marais. Competing with mega agencies of sales forces up to 50 agents, Holland and business partner Ramuncho "Ray" Careme specialize in the boutique real estate market. Many clients are also Virtuoso clients, so enjoy the best of both worlds. 2019 was a great travel year, hosting Silversea Cruises in the Mediterranean, ending in Monte Carlo, Monaco. Using connections, Holland & Careme secured an invitation to the exclusive Monaco Yacht Club during their annual Monaco Classic Week hosted by Prince Albert of Monaco. Antique wood boats to classic steamships were the feature. This particular trip ended with childhood friend of Carême, who manages a boutique family Champagne house in the heart of Champagne, so a special treat awaited to help with the harvest. Coffee breaks were replaced with small champagne tastings!

He received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, and he received additional training at the Institute of Tourism and Hotel Management - Mediterranean of Salzburg, Austria. He has visited more than 75 countries in 6 of the World's 7 continents, including a recent cruise to the Arctic North Cape. Recent Silversea Endeavour Expedition cruise to Antartica to completed 7 continents. Partner Ramuncho Carême's experience in all levels of a 3 star Michelin restaurant in Champagne, France makes the perfect ensemble showing clients the World.

Fortunate enough to have been able to most parts of the World, Holland realizes his affiliation is so very special and respected in the travel world of the top hotels, tour vendors, VIP location destination specialists, makes Virtuoso unique and really like it's own country. Their strict policy to only work with the top vendors and agents, On occasions a 'non Virtuoso' hotel property realize you are in resident and you are treated like royalty in order to hopefully being recognized by headquarters with an invitation to see if you even qualify to be a member.

We just returned hosting for 18 nights with Virtuoso on Silversea "Ray" in Europe. We have also been lucky enough to cruise twice this year on the Explora Journeys "Explora 1". Next years plans to host a trans-Pacific cruise on Seabourn for 20 nights from Japan to Alaska and continue with a back to back sailing from Vancouver to Juneau, Alaska for 7 more nights. In September, we have been asked to host a Virtuoso Voyage on the Yachts of Ritz Carlton from Amsterdam to Lisbon. Come join us!
