Starting at a young age, I always dreamed of traveling to faraway places, and experiencing life as a local. My dream came true when I had the opportunity to study abroad for a year during college. I fell in love with Italy the moment I stepped off the plane in Rome.

I ended up living in Umbria for over fifteen years, where I had the great fortune of teaching at a prestigious local university. This allowed me to travel all over Italy, as well as the rest of Europe. I have taken a night train from Munich to Budapest, flown to London for dinner, rung in New Year’s on the Champs-Elysées in Paris, taken a cruise on the Nile, and celebrated my birthday in a castle.
