As an Air Force brat, I got a taste for travel at a young age. I'd attended 13 schools (including one in Taiwan) by the time I graduated high school and had been to all 50 states by the time I was 30.

I have fond memories of visiting my parents in Belgium when I was in college, which included lots of travel around Europe. I sure don't miss waiting for days on end to catch a free ride on a C-130 cargo plane strapped to the top of the cargo area, though. After that, sitting in coach on a transatlantic flight is nothing!

After a few stops in the corporate world: New York, New Jersey, Houston, Denver, Iowa and St. Louis, I settled down in Kansas City, raising two beautiful daughters. Now that my children are grown and have kids of their own, I'm back to travelling, wandering the globe, but in much better style than in the old days. From all those adventures, I've learned how to travel and more importantly, how not to travel.
