Susan Forbes
My passion for travel was sparked while studying abroad in Italy and Greece during my time at the University of Georgia. Those transformative months inspired me to pursue a BA in History, focusing on Italian and European history, followed by an MBA from the College of William and Mary. After a brief stint in the corporate world, I realized my true calling was in travel—helping others make the most of their precious vacation time.
I began my career by owning a cruise-only travel firm before expanding into my current role as a full-service land and cruise advisor. Over the years, I have traveled to more than 60 countries—many multiple times—deepening my expertise across Europe, Africa, New Zealand and Australia, South America, Asia, and even Alaska. I use this extensive experience to provide clients with valuable insights that make every day of their trip truly unforgettable.
I have achieved Gold Status with the New Zealand Tourism Board and am also a certified specialist for Australia. I love crafting journeys to these incredible destinations, as well as to the breathtaking landscapes of Africa. Italy remains a lifelong passion for me, and I visit almost every year to discover hidden gems and off-the-beaten-path experiences.
Through my connections with Virtuoso and partnerships worldwide, I provide access to the world’s best luxury hotels, cruise lines, and tour operators—along with exclusive amenities and upgrades unavailable elsewhere.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with family, reading, hiking, cycling, and, of course, traveling!
