Darlene Silvestri

I have been in the travel industry since the late 1970’s and the Co-Owner of Avant Travel since 1987. My family relocated to Lexington, KY when I was an infant and Lexington has been my home for my whole life including my college years when I attended the University of Kentucky.  Bluegrass Pride runs deep for me.

I love creating the types of trips that emphasize food and wine, adventure, history and culture and the active traveler. Italy is my passion and although I have visited many times each time is magical.  Of particular interest are destinations with architectural and other amazing structural sights and natural wonders. A couple of favorite adventures have been Machu Picchu and Mt. Kilimanjaro.
