My Background

As the vice-president of leisure travel services for a major Canadian travel agency group, I always say that travel is my life. I’ve been in the industry for all my working career – over 30 years now – and have been lucky enough to visit almost 100 countries and experience over 50 cruises.

Biggest problem I ever solved? I once staged a one-woman sitdown protest at an embassy because I needed to get my client’s passport back!

Destinations I love include Asia – especially China, and the Caribbean, plus I am very engaged in the luxury travel sector whether it’s five-star hotels, tours, or cruises. A big part of my role is to mentor, coach and inspire our leisure travel advisors: I’m proud to lead a team numbering several hundred across Canada, many with proven expertise in specialties such as ocean and river cruising, family holidays, golf, escorted and learning holidays.

Away from the office, I enjoy golf, downhill skiing, and of course travel – usually about 20?? Trips a year. Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you’d like help selecting a topnotch Vision Travel advisor to help make your travel dreams come true.

Train travel in Europe

By: Lloyd

Reviewed on: 13 Oct 2017

Our travel schedule involved use of several trains between Venice and Rome. Overall a great alternative to car rentals which are overly expensive with problems with parking, city congestion and some scary sections or road and traffic. Advantages; Cheap, dependable, modern, quick. Disadvantages; Avoid cheaper commuter trains; crowded, little room for baggage, no reserved seating, double travel time. Direct options a delight. We found it easy to manage our way to our train platforms but huge problems with lack of elevators to train levels, purchase of tickets via machines, and lack of travel consultants in depots.
